Russian for beginners (author Ovsienko)

This is the main book used in the course.  Because of well-structured system of various lexical and grammar exercises, students acquire pre-intermediate speaking skills of Russian language.  At the end of the programmethe lexical vocabulary generally is around 2000 words.

 

 

Russian language in Exercises (author Khavronina)

This book is used as an additional material for the practical grammar classes.  It consists of two parts: First – where the basics of Russian grammar are given, and second part – which concentrates on more difficult parts of the grammar.  The exercises given in the first part are based on limited vocabulary (approximately 350 words) they will enable the students to master the main types of Russian simple sentence and also a number of points of Russian grammar, such as personal verb forms and tenses, and the plural of nouns.

The second part covers: The Use of the Cases; The Verb; and Complex Sentence.

 

There are additional materials which will be provided by the teacher in the class.

 

Programme:

 

The program allows improving the skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening. The course includes 16 basic conversational topics and subtopics, as well as 13 literature pieces adapted to foreign readers. The practical part of the lesson is recorded, so student has the ability to listen to the class again in spare time.  Listening to the recordings of the class helps to learn covered topics faster.  All classes are conducted only in Russian by experienced Ukrainian teachers who also speak English*.
